It has been some time since I last played in Serenity. After getting back into playing AC:NL I’ve found myself enjoying Serenity probably the best out of all of the towns I’m working on. I’m really enjoying the dark celestial colour palette, the lore I’m writing and the characters that live in this town.
I plan on writing lore and character stories for all of my towns but I think that Serenity’s lore is the best by far. I’m really enjoying the depth that Estella in particular has with her character and her personal life with what happened to her father. I briefly spoke about it on Serenity’s about page which you can read here.

A New Villager & House Renovations

I unexpectedly had Flurry move in to the northern side of Serenity. Flurry isn’t a dreamie for this town as she doesn’t match in with the dark colour palette or “space” theme so I might replace her with another villager via a save editor or let her move away if she wants to eventually. 😦
I also had Eclipse’s home renovated recently. Her home was the standard mansion from upgrading it. I waited patiently until the castle version appeared in the Nook’s Homes shop and then paid for the renovation. I planted some trees and bushes around her castle alongside redoing her garden with roses, violets and lilies for a prettier look. Violets and lilies tend to look super good when used together in flowerbeds. The blue and purple violets are a good deep dark shade too at nighttime so they’re a good addition to landscaping.

She has blue and pink hydrangea bushes as they also match the kingdom’s colour palette. I love the look of perfect apples so she has those in her royal garden. At the front of her royal garden she has a beautiful ethereal fountain statue which I like to think is her ancestor that was a goddess from the moon. 🙂
Her castle’s renovation also included her door, mailbox, roof and wall getting a brand new makeover that’s meant to resemble Serenity; after all she is their Queen so it would make sense for her castle to resemble her kingdom. I also completely forgot to renovate her fence around her castle so that’s on the ‘To Do List’. xP

So far I’ve only finished renovating Eclipse’s ground floor room. This is the kingdom’s throne room. The left throne being Eclipse’s throne and her late husband is the right throne. The moon behind them is a reference to Eclipse’s powers and her ancestors. I made sure that the backroom is still accessible as I want to make that into the royal study/library. I plan on making the right wing a bathroom and the left room a royal dining room. For upstairs, I’ll make that into the royal bedroom for Queen Eclipse and her late husband, King Orion. I’m not sure if I’ll add a basement to her castle yet.

Another photo of Eclipse’s castle after renovations. 🙂

A purple balloon floating past Eclipse’s royal gardens. The purple balloon attached to the present was super fitting for Serenity and it’s colour palette. I really like how the fountain statue looks in her gardens here as well. 🙂
Bug & Fish Catching
I decided to spend a few hours catching bugs and fish for the museum.

I was interrupted by Flurry who wanted to play hide and seek so of course I said yes. 🙂

Eclipse VS Tarantula 1.0
I easily found all of the villagers within the 15 minute time limit and won hide and seek. After that I went around redecorating Serenity when I stumbled across a Tarantula.
(Also please excuse the weird lighting in this pic, I was using the Vapecord plugin to see a little better with the lighting lol)
My heart ALWAYS drops whenever I see one of these things in game. I’ve never been successful at catching them due to anxiety and fear because they always freak me out, I mean like who wouldn’t? It’s a giant hairy disgusting spider. I did equip my net in attempt to catch it but it unfortunately respawned. Maybe next time. xP
New Public Work Projects
I started putting down some PWPs around Serenity to decorate the landscaping I’ve already been working on. I started with another bridge nearby to Estella’s castle on the south eastern side of Serenity.

I was contemplating if I should or shouldn’t put a bridge here due to the 3 bridge limit in AC:NL but decided to just go ahead with it anyways as I like the placement. However, I do wish there was a bypass of more than 3 bridges as there’s no bridge placement to go to the north eastern side of Serenity for quality of life purposes. I’m not sure if it’s possible to perhaps spawn in an extra bridge with Vapecord plugin yet. I paid off the bridge straight away after placing it down and time travelled a day forwards so that I could use it.

Next was the windmill which is super nearby to the bridge that I just built. I placed this PWP down using the Vapecord plugin as I don’t think Isabelle would’ve let me place it that close to the riverbed.

I then built a fairy tail clock south of Eclipse’s royal gardens. This PWP has been growing on me a lot as of late alongside the rest of the fairy tail PWPs. From the fairy tail clock you can see the windmill across the river which looks pretty. 🙂

And finally I added a water pump next to a pond that’s local to retail and the kingdom’s cafe.

The water pump is definitely one of the prettiest PWPs in AC:NL, I think it looks pretty when paired with a drain QR code next to it so that it gives the illusion that water is going into the drain rather than just splashing onto the floor. 🙂
I also really like bamboo in the water. Although it does make fishing a bit harder, it does make it look a lot prettier in my opinion. Serenity has another pond that I can use in the meantime to complete the museum before decorating the other one.
